04/04/20 - Kaimahi Wanted

Korowai Tumanako is a kaupapa Maori service designed to support Iwi, Hapu and Whanau who have been impacted by sexual violence, on their journey toward greater well-being.
We are seeking a kaimahi to join our small and highly effective team, working with adults and adolescents with a history of concerning or harmful sexual behaviour (HSB).

A current key focus of this role will be to provide effective day to day mentoring and ‘tane Maori’ role-modelling for a rangatahi; working with a team to provide social activities, vocational opportunities and to support him to develop greater connection to whakapapa and te Ao Maori.

This fulltime role would be ideal for someone with social work/youth work skills including advocacy, and a willingness to work with rangatahi and tane. Full training in the specialism of the HSB sector will be provided. We are looking for vitality, enthusiasm and positive energy and strong connection to te
Ao Maori.
It is essential you maintain a full driver’s licence as the majority of work will be off-site, and you will be able to pass the scrutiny of a security check under the Vulnerable Children’s Act (2014).

This is an excellent opportunity to participate in cutting edge Kaupapa Maori sexual violence work and is likely to be the most satisfying career pathway you will choose.
